Instructor – Department of Communication
The Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a non-tenure-track, 3-year renewable appointment as instructor, with an expertise in interpersonal communication. The position may begin either January 2014 or August 2014. Requirements include the PhD in Communication, the ability to teach in large lecture and small seminar settings, and the ability to train and supervise graduate teaching assistants. The position involves 85% teaching and 15% service with a 4-course teaching load each semester. Responsibilities include the possibility of teaching of one of the large, introductory communication classes with supervision and training of graduate student teachers in this class. This person would also be expected to teach a variety of interpersonal communication classes at sophomore through senior levels. Service responsibilities would involve serving on a variety of committees or assuming leadership in needed department tasks for up to 6 hours per week.
