Major in Dance 2013-2014

The Theatre and Dance department reserves the right to change major requirements at any time. Please check with the Theatre and Dance department or the CU Boulder catalog for the most current listing of requirements. You are subject to the requirements in effect at the time you declare your major as an Arts & Sciences degree seeking student.

BA and BFA students are expected to take at least one course each in modern, ballet, jazz and African dance technique before the end of their sophomore year. Dance majors must earn a grade of C- or better in all required courses. Students who have not placed in the major technique class (DNCE 2021, 3041, or 4061) by their second semester in the dance program are strongly advised not to continue in the major program in dance. Placement into and successful completion of major technique is a prerequisite for enrollment in other required courses. All students must complete all the general requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences in addition to the specific major requirements listed below.
